House Resolution 57
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. HAL LUSK, JR., ON BEING NAMED THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR FOR 1998-1999.
WHEREAS, Mr. Hal Lusk, Jr., currently the Athletic Director for Jackson Public Schools, has been named the Athletic Director of the Year for 1998-1999 by the Mississippi Association of Coaches; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Lusk, a native of Florence, Mississippi, graduated from Florence High School and attended Louisiana Tech, Belhaven College and Jackson State University, where he received his master's degree in administration; and
WHEREAS, after a stellar career as a baseball pitcher at Belhaven College, Mr. Lusk was inducted into the Belhaven Athletic Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, in his spare time, Mr. Lusk is a basketball referee for Division I Conference USA and has been selected to referee for the NCAA Tournament; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Lusk has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his beautiful wife, Jennifer; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend such outstanding Mississippians as Mr. Lusk, whose 19 years in athletic administration has improved the quality of athletics for the schools for which he has served:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Hal Lusk, Jr., on being named the Athletic Director of the Year for 1998-1999 and extend to him our heartiest wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Hal Lusk, Jr., and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
